Ready to make the crib to bed transition without losing sleep (or your sanity)?
The simple, step-by-step plan to help you confidently move your toddler from crib to bed - without chaos, confusion, or endless bedtime battles.
If you’re a cautious, prepared, and slightly anxious mom who’s worked really hard to build great sleep habits - and you’re terrified to undo it all - this guide is for you.
Let’s be honest - this transition feels huge.
You’ve got a great sleeper. You’ve worked hard to get here.
And now, the thought of giving your toddler “freedom” at bedtime feels like opening Pandora’s box.
You’re not being dramatic. The crib-to-bed transition is one of the biggest toddler sleep milestones.
It changes your child’s environment, independence, and expectations - and it can either be smooth… or spiral fast.
But here’s the good news: with the right plan, it doesn’t have to be a gamble.
✅ You can protect your child’s sleep (and yours).
✅ You can make the change calmly and confidently.
✅ You can keep bedtime peaceful - and predictable.
Because this guide gives you the clarity and step-by-step confidence you need to get it right the first time.
You’ve probably been wondering things like:
- “How do I know when they’re actually ready?”
- “What if they keep getting out of bed?”
- “What if our great sleeper suddenly refuses bedtime?”
- “How do I keep them safe and still make this exciting?”
And maybe you’ve heard the horror stories - toddlers wandering the halls at 2 a.m., bedtime battles that drag on for hours, or little visitors showing up in your bed every night.
No wonder you’re overthinking it.
You don’t want to wing it.
You don’t want to regret it.
You just want a clear plan so everyone keeps sleeping well.
That’s exactly what the Crib to Bed Transition Guide delivers.
What if you had an entire roadmap laid out for this big transition so you knew what to do and when?

I’m so glad you’re here.
Hey there, I’m Carianna Gibb - pediatric sleep consultant, mom of two, and someone who’s lived through every kind of sleep transition.
I’ve seen how easily a big milestone like this can stir up anxiety. You’ve worked hard to create good sleep - and you deserve to feel confident keeping it that way.
This guide is here to make that possible. It’s calm, clear, and backed by experience - not theory.
Because I believe this:
You don’t have to choose between connection and structure.
You don’t have to fear change.
And you absolutely don’t have to lose sleep to move forward.
Let’s make this next stage of toddlerhood a peaceful one. 🩷
You might be thinking,
“What if my child isn’t ready yet?”
No worries - the guide includes clear signs of readiness and timing recommendations so you’ll know exactly when to make the switch.
“What if my strong-willed toddler keeps getting out of bed?”
You’ll learn exactly how to handle that - calmly, consistently, and confidently - without turning bedtime into a power struggle.
“Can’t I just wing it when the time comes?”
You could… but that’s when most families hit regressions and chaos. A little prep now means you’ll transition smoothly - and keep sleep strong.
✨ You’re a mom who’s had great sleep - and you want to keep it that way.
✨ You’re a planner who likes to be prepared (not panicked).
✨ You’re worried about losing your sleep streak and want to do this right.
✨ You want a calm, smooth, positive transition for your child.
✨ You’re ready for bedtime to stay peaceful - even in a big new stage.
If you’re nodding along? Then yep - this guide was made for you.
Got questions? Let’s ease your mind...
The ideal age to move your child from their crib to a bed is 3 years or later but readiness matters more than age. This guide walks you through exactly how to tell when it’s time.
This guide is really written for the family that has already achieved independent sleep. This means your child is laid down awake and can fall asleep without your presence in the room.
If this is something your child has not yet achieved, this guide can help, but many families find it useful to have more tools during this time. I'd encourage you to check out the Sleep Coaching Crash Course For Little Kids (my Crib to Bed Guide is included as a bonus) or the 1:1 Consultations I offer.
If your child was sleeping independently but then you had to transition out of the crib without a plan and now it's all gone downhill, I'd highly recommend my Toddler Sleep Reset (my Crib to Bed Guide is included as a bonus).
Crying is one of your child's main forms of communication so during a transition, it is naturally for them to be communicating with you. All tears are not created equal and the emotions your child may be expressing during the sleep coaching process are: "I'm frustrated. I don't like this. YOU are supposed to put me to sleep. Why are we doing this? I don't know how to fall asleep without you. I'm tired. I'm struggling." These are all completely normal and healthy emotions.
So the short answer is, yes. You may have to hear your child cry. However, this guide will do everything possible to minimize those tears by making sure we have all the puzzle pieces in place leading up to this big transition.
Totally okay! If you go through the guide and still feel stuck, you have the option to add on 1:1 help. Sometimes a quick personalized call makes all the difference.
